Travel Advice

As you may remember, Mr. Science and I are this weekend traveling to Atlanta for my fantasy trip of seeing Duke play in the NCAA Tournament. He is planning our culinary adventures, and, like most knitters, I am first deciding what knitting project to take.

This is where you come in. I have whittled it down to two potential portable projects, both socks, of course:

1 -- the obvious choice is something from Knitting on the Road by Nancy Bush. My first koigu socks are calling to me...

2-- Simply Lovely Lace Socks, our potential first team sock KAL. I am throwing this out there to see if y'all are ready to begin this pair yet.

Let me know what you think!

In the meantime, I am wrapping up some other small projects. I made a quick hat for Dulaan this weekend, and quickly cast on for another. I have begun my Blue Heron Wrap, but have stepped away from it for a bit. It requires some thought before I continue.

I also need to finish my tipless gloves. I had to put them aside because imagine how annoyed I was when I came to the final step, the last thumb, and this is how much yarn I had left:

Well, I've knitted my Conwys on the road and they worked out just fine, so I vote for them. I haven't really looked at the pattern in IK closely.

Lucky you to get tickets -- I've got Duke all the way in our basketball pool!!

I'd go with the Koigu -- I don't think I'll be ready for a KAL by this weekend.

A big "errrrr" about the yarn and the tipless gloves. I hate that ...

I never watch basketball, but I may watch a GMU game after yesterday! I will try to catch Duke and look for you and Mr. S in the crowd ...

I'm ready when you are for the KAL. Let's wait until we get the go-ahead from Ann.

Have a great time! I know this is a big deal for you!

OK, the Koigu Conwy it is. Ann, you give us the go-ahead when you are ready for the Simply Lovelies.

I hope your trip is fun no matter what, but as a Duke alum I must say I am now glad that I had to attend a work event last night rather that watch the Devils' defeat ~
PS> there are some great yarn shops in Atlanta!
