She's gone

I guess panic mode was real. I did save about four inches on one side and at least nine on the other. I need to measure and count better this time.

WAIT! I thought you were waiting until Tuesday! This requires more explanation! Frogging most of a sweater?????

I knew may gauge was correct, but when I measured the width of the sweater it was at least six inches off. Part of the problem was my measuring. The corrugated pattern makes it tricky since the nature of the reverse stockinette bunches up. So do you flatten it out or leave it as is?

The next problem was my stitch count. On the left side of the sweater (the one with the unfinished arm) you are supposed to knit with increases until it reaches 10 1/2 inches from the cast on edge (this is where I stopped reading) or 110 stitches. My stretched out measuring to get to 10 1/5 inches only got me to 90 stitches. I found out that the stitch count was what really mattered.

See? Measuring, counting and reading really do matter when knitting patterns.

Jeez, what a nightmare! The corrugated pattern is nutso. I can't really get a grip on what you're talking about -- I'll need to see it to really get it. But I really think that unless time is a big issue, frogging it is a good idea.

Give us an update after you see Trish.

Update: Just got back from Lettuce Knit ... I'm making a larger size. Plus, I got several other tips. I'll give it one more try, but I'm not wasting this yarn on a sweater that I'm not going to wear.
