Back at Home

Another fine Thanksgiving! Some small amount of knitting was accomplished (I hope to have one finished sock for my mother to post soon) but mostly it was about the yummy food and visiting with family. We travelled to Arkansas (Jonesboro) to visit the BackBou's brother's family. I need to take a moment to sing the praises of my sister-in-law, not only does she deal with her two children, work long hours at a steel mill, and seem to find time to do artsy things like paint furniture, but she also knits! Donna, you are my hero. She is currently working on Sonnet I believe ...

In other news, I have recently joined the Lean Plate Club's Holiday Challenge. I do this every year in the attempt to not add to my weight during the holidays and for the past 3 years I have either remained at the same weight after New Year's or have lost weight. This year, I gained 3 pounds over Thanksgiving. Hmm. Not auspicious.

Let me leave you with this:
What my children do with yarn when I am trying to find a moment to knit ...

I'm glad to hear you had a great vacation with the BackBou's family. I love the spider webs your girls spun. I'd teeter on the edge of being deeply pissed and smugly impressed.

Welcome back Ann! What a trip! I'm with you on the lean plate challenge, but I'll be doing Weight Watchers (or at least saying I'm doing WW).

That's what my DOG does with yarn. Smart kids! (Bless you for letting them, because I know you did. How much knitting time'd it get you?)

I am impressed. What great kids. Of course they are my grandchildren.

Oh my Lord! I'm don't know whether I would laugh, cry or get mad at Girly if I found a web like that in my house.
