Freak Out Sweater

This is what happens when you shop for a pattern and yarn when you are under extreme stress ...

This is Miami from Rowan's Cotton Braid book knit in Maggi's Rag. I'm not sure why I made this sweather other than I was not in my right mind at the moment and on the verge of a minor freak out. Knitting makes these things better even if the final product isn't exactly wonderful. Now, I'll have a huge holey sweater to remind me of this time in my life.

Oh, but perfect for when the seasons are changing, at least here where I am (80 two weeks ago and supposed to get 4 inches of snow tonight). The holes also will come in handy, so I'm told, when you go through menopause. Enough air conditioning for those hot flashes. :) leave it to a stranger to try to ruin your bad mood about the sweater.

Oh Mo. (Who are you, Mo? Are you one of them Richmond Waldorf peeps? I'm a friend of Ann's, and Pennsylvania Liz reminds me of Tea Leoni, so I have some kind of mind-wrapping-around thing with her, but why are you familiar to me?) You look like you've just HAD it. But that thing you're wearing looks like something I wouldn't mind wrapping up in, and something kind of nice to knit. But I'm unclear as to whether you hate it or not. Do you hate it? What are the plans? The blue is good. Blue is very important, you know. What do those grumpy faces mean?

You look like you feel about this sweater the way I feel about the one I just finished. But I like yours. Yes, it may be a little different from what you usually knit, but the color is lovely and it's well constructed. Looks like we both need to not be so hard on ourselves!

You are a riot! You'll find a way to love the sweater, or you'll find a person who will love it! The color is excellent ...

And I love your movies ...

Excellent movie choices, fab pix of disgruntled knitter :-) and absolutely charming, airy sweater. I think you improved on the model, frankly. I mean, the catalog photo shows what looks like a pullover. And I love the deeply ribbed bottom. Quite a nice sweater, sez oi, and well made. I'd NEVER have considered that yarn; you've made me see its possibilities.
