Hug Me

Seriously. Hug me in this sweater. You won't let me go.

Pattern: Refined Raglan, Winter IK 2006
Yarn: Malabrigo, Burgundy
Mods: I modified the stitch count slightly due to gauge issues, and it is definitely a closer-fitting sweater than the one the model wears in the magazine. The other major modification is that I swapped out the funnel-neck specified in the pattern for a classic K2 P2 crew neck. This is an easy modification -- e-mail me if you want specifics on how I did it.

The most difficult thing about this sweater is photographing it. But trust me. It's perfect.

This is a sweater that any knitter would rate a 10. Gorgeous, super-soft yarn with rich incredible colors that knit up without incident into a simple yet distinct, absolutely perfectly fitting sweater.

wow it's fabulous! the sleeves are a great length, the body fits so nicely, and i like your neckline better than the original. it seems like you just started knitting it, AND you even had a vaca in the middle of it all.

i'm stunned with how well the malabrigo behaved too. i wonder if yours is a fluke, or if the kettle dye doesn't flash and pool like handpainting does. seeing this makes me reconsider using malabrigo for a full sweater.

it's gorgeous!

So very, very pretty! I love the varigation of the Malibrigo - and I've heard some super-wonderful things about that yarn - enough to know that I want to *sqwoosh* your pretty, pretty sweater! And, for once, I dare not to turn my nose up at all of that endless stockinette! Hmmm...new project for me, perhaps!

Damn, that was fast! I just got my Winter IK in the mail last week and here you are with a finished sweater from it. I love the color on you, and the pattern is probably the only one from that issue of IK that got put on my Will Knit Someday list.

I love love love your modifications, and the variegated yarn really adds personality. This is not something I would have knit based on the picture in IK, but upon seeing yours, it may certainly be worth a try. Brava!!

That is a 10! Love it. Please send me the modifications, I'm planning to make it too and that funnel was giving me some worries.

It looks beautiful on you!

How many skeins did it take? :-)

Georgeous! Have you used the malabrigo before? I have a sweater that I can wear next to my oh so sensitive skin...but it's pilling! Who cares? It's so soft. Like the change in the neckline. I want to knit this, but there's a whole long list of things ahead of it!

Wow, Liz! I have some boring brown yarn I had planned to use for the Refined Raglan, but yours is great! Can I ask--about how much ease do you have in that one? It looks just perfect on you, and I agree that the modeled one in IK looks a bit boxy/loose. Your hair looks great, too!
