Tangelo in Blue

This may look like a boring ole blue cardi, but it's way more. Yummy yarn, interesting ribbing details and super easy one piece construction. Woohoo, another winner!

Pattern: Tangelo from Fall 2006 Knit Scene (size small)
Yarn: Reynolds Rapture color 569
Mods: No flowers, sorry.
Knit Flicks: The Departed, VCU basketball
Notes: The only reason I knit this sweater was because I bought yarn at a super reduced price a couple weeks ago without a pattern in mind. Tangelo caught my eye in the midst of the CPH project. I'm really glad I gave it a try. I like the way the ribbing on the sides and lower edge add some shaping. Plus, the silk/wool blend will work well this spring.

This is great Mo. I sometimes have trouble seeing past a color or detail when I see a pattern in a magazine - your end result makes me want to knit this sweater!!

Gorgeous! Who would have thought that such a hideous orange, flowery mess could inspire such a beautiful, gorgeous cardi?? I, for one, am floored. Some questions: how many skeins of the Rapture did you end up using? And did you make any mods to the neckline? Your cardi neck looks less rounded than the one in the magazine.

Okay, this is going to show you how lame I can be ... I *think* I used 8 skeins (at 72 yards each) or maybe 9. I intended to buy 15, but then my LYS owner threw a bunch extra in since they were clearing stuff out. I'm not really sure how many I came home with.

Also, I did not modify the neckline. My final product is just a bit more snug than the photo, so that may have changed the look a bit.
